A New Dimension in Abrasive Blast Cleaning
The Pauli Systems HANDYMAN VR-2 combines the dust-free benefits of large stationary industrial blasting systems with the convenience and efficiency of portable equipment. The result is a uniquely compact, portable, and completely self-contained abrasive blast cleaning system with practical applications for almost any shop.
The HANDYMAN VR-2 is a perfect answer to the in-plant dust control problems of abrasive blast cleaning because it is dust-free. And, when combined with its portability and its capability to handle almost any abrasive, the HANDYMAN VR-2 is quite possibly the most practical piece of equipment any shop can own.
The HANDYMAN is ideal for shot blasting and cleaning weldments, for welding preparation, shot peening gears and parts, for etching glass and plastics, for cleaning electrical components, armatures, molds, and general surface preparation prior to painting or coating.
Who uses the HANDYMAN VR-2? Welders, metal fabricators, automotive body and repair shops, radiator shops, foundries, aircraft, railroad, electrical, glass and rubber manufacturers, petroleum producers, municipalities, breweries, ship builders, and many more!
The HANDYMAN VR-2 features an efficient vacuum-return action. All abrasive, dust and debris is recovered at the nozzle after blasting and pneumatically conveyed to the cyclone separator for reclaiming, air washing and screening.
Combining with the vacuum-return action to assure dust-free blasting, is the unique design of the blast gun body. Constructed of durable, lightweight aluminum, the blast gun body actually serves as a small blast compartment which retains the abrasive particles on the inside. A nylon brush surrounds the gun body to further prevent the escape of abrasive and dust.
Depending on your requirements and the available air supply in your shop, the HANDYMAN VR-2 is available with either an electric powered (designated model VR-2E) or an air powered (model VR-2A) dust collector system. The air powered model is particularly useful in explosive or other hazardous areas where electrical equipment presents a safety problem, and where suitable electric power is not available.
The electric model VR-2 requires only 12 to 48 cfm of air at 80 psi depending on the size of the blast gun air jet selected for use. The air powered model VR-2 requires 60 to 96 cfm at 80 psi. Be sure to check the AIR & ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS section for your specific needs and metric specifications.
Like expensive industrial blasting systems, the HANDYMAN VR-2 allows you to reuse abrasive until it breaks down to dust. This means you can use better grades of abrasive for greater savings and higher production.
The abrasive reclaimer system utilizes a cyclone type separator which separates the abrasive particles, dust and debris. Broken-down media and dust fines are carried to the dust collector for disposal, while the remaining abrasive is deposited on a vibrating screen for further cleaning before returning to the blasting system. This assures a consistent, high quality abrasive being used during the abrasive blast cleaning operation.
Dust particles and small contaminates are drawn from the cyclone separator and through a series of nine tubular type cloth dust bags. Only clean air is exhausted into the atmosphere. A sealed dust drawer located at the bottom of the HANDYMAN cabinet makes daily maintenance fast and simple. Inspection and replacement of the dust bags is accomplished by removing the top panel of thecabinet. The air powered dust collector is rated at 120 cfm and the electric model is rated at 110 cfm.
Almost any abrasive from 50 to 300 mesh can be used effectively in the HANDYMAN VR-2 system - GLASS BEADS, STEEL SHOT, STEEL GRIT, WALNUT SHELLS, GARNET, ALUMINUM OXIDE and many others are satisfactory.
Sand and mineral abrasives are not recommended for use due to their rapid breakdown rate. Consult your authorized Pauli Systems Distributor for technical information on abrasives. |
