RAM 32
[ One piece integrated system for cost effetive component cleaning ]

The RAM 32 plastic media biast (PMB) system is a self-contained cabinet that is designed and engineered to effectively remove paint and contaminants from components by the use of plastic media. This dry stripping method of removing surface coatings completely eliminates the hazards of chemical use, its associated costly cleanup and its known dangers to mankind and environment.

The RAM 32 has been designed in a single component to help you save valuable floor space. Cabinet, reclaimer, storage hopper, pressure vessel and dust collector are in one compact unit.

The RAM 32 is engineered to provide over twelve air changes per minute in the cabinet assuring your operator excellent visibility. Good visibility means money to you, because of increased production. The RAM 32 is hard evidence of Pauli System’s commitment to provide you with high production, low maintenance, cost effective equipment — at a fair price.

[ How dry stripping works ]

A stream of plastic granular reusable media propelled by a low pressure air stream directed through a nozzle removes coatings and contaminants by abrasion and impact. After striking the work surface, media and debris fall through the cabinet floor into the bottom of the tapered cabinet hopper.

All media, dust and debris are pneumatically conveyed from the hopper to the reclaiming section for cleaning and reclaiming. Inside the reclaiming section the controlled cyclortic action spirals the media and debris, throwing good media and heavier particles to the outer walls, where they spiral down through an adjustable air wash system which enhances the separation of dust and other fines from the reusable media. A vibrating screen below the air wash traps oversized debris, allowing correctly sized, reusable media to pass through to the storage hopper mounted over the pressure vessel. Dust and other fines are pulled from the center of the cyclone and pneumatically conveyed to the dust collector. A magnetic separator traps ferrous particles. Each time blasting stops, the pressure vessel automatically exhausts, the pop-up filler valve falls and the pressure vessel is automatically refilled with clean reclaimed media.

[ Stripping without damage ]

Pauli Systems RAM systems are successfully cleaning plastic, glass, rubber and other molds without affecting surface dimensions. Surface sealants and adhesives are safely removed without damage to substrates. carbon deposits are easily dry stripped with no wear to parent metal.

Plastic Media Blasting (PMB) will not damage or mar encapsulated electronic components. Parts are left clean and dust-free. Flash from parting lines is effectively removed from plastic molded parts. PMB is able to remove resin bleed from clear epoxy optical sensors without opaquing the surface. Flash and resin bleed are removed from lead frames without impinging surface. Light surface burrs may be removed without surface distortion on many materials. Paint and surface coatings are stripped from fiberglass, carbon-graphite, honeycomb and kevlar substrates without damage. Aircraft components, mechanisms and engine parts are cleaned in a fraction of the time taken by chemical methods. The Pauli Systems RAM systems are employed on a worldwide basis for component cleaning and test results are available for your application.
